@ikeWren yeah as a vegan I'm not gonna pretend that vegan cheese is great (from my limited experience), but if you're really morally disgusted enough by how dairy is produced then giving up cheese is not nearly as daunting imho

fwiw I don't eat dairy cheese or vegan cheese because I avoid heavily processed food and I don't think either are healthy in large quantities

@eris to be fair a lot of people at the time thought they were getting messages from ghosts, seances were extremely popular

my favorite chiropractic trivia is that the Palmer College of Chiropractic used to own a radio station based in Iowa called WOC (World of Chiropractic), and that Ronald Reagan was one of its early sportscasters

I don't like extremely sweet food, but lavender is fine and I added red bean paste for an earthy flavor that balances it out

@eris I'm reading a book on climate change in the Southwest and how Arizona is gonna be absolutely obliterated in the upcoming water wars

it's kinda complicated but Arizona's water rights are subordinate to California's (see SCOTUS case Arizona v. California for instance), which means in the event of a regional shortage in the arid West, Arizona will take the brunt of the damage and have to cut back on water use the most. which is really bad considering water is essential for managing its nuclear power generators, the source of about 25% of all its energy. the entire southwest region has been in a megadrought since the year 2000 btw though it may be partially over
