Utah easily the worst state in the USA and it's not even really close
@patchuun the skiing is better in places that aren't run by insane cultists that have a disproportionate amount of cultural influence
@allison kansas and our kansas are aslo really awful. texas would be ranked much lower on my list if not for the pro wrestling history there tbh lmao
@allison The Funk family and Fritz Von Erich do a LOT of lifting for me on the texas front
@lewdthewides @monkey @anemone @eris the big online discourse recently has been everyone saying mormons arent christians and it REALLY pisses them off lmao
@eris@yourwalls.today @vriska@lizards.live Never visited other parts of the Southwest besides Arizona, Southern Nevada, and California, but this makes me scared of even driving past Utah
@Merc @monkey @anemone @lewdthewides @eris they aren't christians
@hakui @monkey @anemone @lewdthewides @eris no, a graphic design choice made one of the many insane mormons who weilds insane amount of cultural power in the USA have a meltdown about it so they changed it again.
@ikeWren @monkey @eris idk I think saying that aliens came to earth in a commercial jet and live inside of volcanos and you need to have L'Ron Hubbards Magic Mystery Machine exercise you of all of your sins is just as insane as "the garden of eden is in missouri and the mormon elder psychics give you astrology readings by feeling up your scalp for hours (especially if you're a 16 year old girl) and if you donate all of your money to us you geet to be god of your own planet"
@ikeWren @monkey @vriska @eris fr i grew up with my mom saying shit about how there used to be a second planet stacked on top of earth and the 10 lost tribes of israel went on it and then the planet moved away and that’s why theyre gone
or that mormon god the father is a link in a chain of gods and he’s ours and those in the celestial kingdom get their owns and also that my mom is going to hell according to mormonism bc she left the mormon church, and the family trips to utah where all the soda was caffeine free bc they hadnt said cold caffeinated drinks were okay yet, and the talk about how my mom’s own sister basically wouldnt talk to her for a year while they lived in the same house bc she left the church and how she got super excommunicated (mormon missionaries still arent allowed to step on the property where she lives. they have a contract with usps so they can keep track of that)
actually maybe its good they changed a lot. a little of the silly should have stuck around though
@monkey @ikeWren @eris @gamerrockettech @vriska fr i was surprised to find out she ever was today tbh
@allison @monkey @anemone @Merc @lewdthewides @ikeWren @vriska @eris https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Zizioulas wikipedia does list him as an instance interestingly
@Erato_Heti @ikeWren real trinitarianism has never been tried
@Merc @allison @anemone @eris @ikeWren @lewdthewides @monkey @vriska as long as simplicity is not denied i dont see why it would be objectionable tbh. if they start to challenge that simplicity then id question whether it can be considered christian. my church does count mormon baptism’s fwiw thoug more bc they de-emphasize intent (which i think is correct and something they should go harder on tbh)
@ophis @Merc @allison @anemone @eris @ikeWren @lewdthewides @monkey @vriska yeah this actually seems extremely nicene to me? idk “center of consciousness” could be used to describe something heretical but i don’t see cause to assume that. thats part of why i refocused any objection on whether or not it denies divine simplicity, which nicaea’s homousios necessitates
