if you're a really bored detail-oriented person who likes old books and is OK with free labor, I recommend volunteering for Distributed Proofreaders. they supply ebooks to Project Gutenberg. I have made multiple ebooks for them as a post-processor (I'm not posting any because they have my government name attached), and I find the fruits of my labor personally satisfying. it's all online and you can pick your own projects based on your interests and skill level

most roles don't require any technical experience but if you're a post-processor you will have to know/learn HTML and CSS. it's not very complicated compared to building a whole website though

I put this on my resume and referenced it in the interview when I applied for a job after having been out of work for years. I got the job, and I think part of it was being able to show proof of my attention to detail and willingness to learn new skills
