SCOTUS has, for most of its existence, been a body that codifies institutional and stochastic violence against marginalized people. the only reason why libs expect them to do anything other than that is because, for a handful of decades, the liberal majority actually did the opposite of that in certain high profile cases (but not in others).
that said, I don't want to hear any more takes a la "trans women in blue states will be safe" or "white trans women are white first" or whatever. we're long past the point where we should be entertaining radlibs engaging in preening behavior on social media. ALL American trans women and transfems are now second-class citizens at the federal level, and that's not changing any time soon.
we can either accept that reality and build from here, or we can continue to entertain radlibs' attempts to "well actually" transfemininity into a second-tier identity issue. but we can't have both.

I came across information about the Black Panther Party and the incomprehensible levels of cruelty the US government has deployed to shut down dissidence, even if the dissidence was feeding hungry children.
“COINTELPRO also aimed to dismantle the Black Panther Party by targeting their social/community programs, including its Free Breakfast for Children program, whose success had served to “shed light on the government’s failure to address child poverty and hunger—pointing to the limits of the nation’s War on Poverty”. According to Bloom & Martin, the FBI denounced the party’s efforts as a means of indoctrination because the party taught and provided for children more effectively than the government
I’m in Poland, here we have very deeply rooted racism against the Roma, a disturbing amount of casual antisemitism, and the more I learn about EU’s Frontex the more outraged I am. EU is so proud about privacy laws and all that shit but according to the state suddenly when it’s immigrants they no longer deserve those allegedly basic human rights. Poland has suspended the right to asylum, which isn’t even a legal thing to do, just to keep out immigrants.
It’s always a play on people’s fears, “but if we didn’t require visa applicants to provide documentation outlining all of their international travels ever how would we make sure they are who they say they are”, idk we give citizens personal identification numbers, we give intra-EU immigrants extra country specific personal identification numbers, you can just issue them a document and put them in a database it’s not rocket science, would be much cheaper that way too, but I guess we just really need that sweet sweet denied visa revenue? The revenue that goes back into funding Frontex? It’s horrible.
