i’m at the point of my weight loss journey (of 6+ years) that direct family are assuming i’ve put 0 effort and just got lucky. “you just didn’t get the family quirk” “you were never really that fat” “you just don’t eat that much” metabolism genetics etc etc
when in fact it took me getting trough disordered eating, and an actual eating disorder, fighting against my body and my mind every day, despite the constant sabotage (gifting me who has a deep fear of wasting food free burger king while i was in the middle of fasting. a dozen times) for all these years i fought body disphoria and my impulses. also getting sober, quitting drugs and e-cig.
i should have gotten help. but didn’t and somehow made it trough. that’s not inspiring, some people don’t, i almost did the irreversible. IT WAS WORTH IT, despite people assuming i just got lucky. i was lucky in my darkest moments i had a figure to look up to and that’s it.
@nautilus yeah its really hard, don’t hesitate to get help for it.
@Stellar you did a great job, well done
@Stellar listen, you are the goat. You fought and won against your own body and mental obstacles. Your family may be blind, but you know what you went through
