There was an interview I was just watching with the Esoterica guy where he said something offhand like "we weren't built to understand the mysteries of the universe, we were built to like, have kids" or something to that effect and I haven't stopped thinking about it, because like, how do you know that exactly? I don't know, I've never really liked him cuz I feel like he's on the opposite end of the schizo occultists that are completely lost in the sauce where I find him too skeptical and scientific and I just end up finding his content really superficial as a result

It's so weird to think that by doing occult philosophy we're somehow going against our evolutionary drives. It's crazy. As though somehow all our knowledge and our will to knowledge was uncaused

@unmind i like his stuff but got that sterile vibe too, he presents and elucidates a tonne of information really well but it is just... there, there's hardly even as much as a question drawn out of the content like what is it all FOR is it just more pages in the annals of history???

@unmind i can respect a neutral perspective and providing that information for audiences to derive but excluding a whole layer of contextualization through use an interpretation leaves the information flattened and structureless

@winterklaus yeah idk its this exactly. it just seems superficial to me precisely because he tries to remove as much of himself as possible. it's interesting historically but none of his videos really give me anything to chew on. maybe he's making arguments and i'm just not well versed in the literature enough to understand but idk
