That would be because not many people want to live in the middle of nowhere where there are few aspects for employment and your nearest neighbors are white supremacists and christian fundamentalists with basements full of guns.

Those houses are inexpensive because NO ONE wants to live in Outer BF KKK-ville.

@timberwraith I used to live in rural Iowa and as a queer Jewish leftist it absolutely sucked, plus I lived near a pig CAFO that led to really bad air quality. 1/10 would not recommend

@nautilus I'm an outdoorsy person who has long been into hiking. My travels took me into communities like this during my hiking trips and while they were often stunningly beautiful places, I saw no end of indications of really hinky shit going on in those communities.

Living in those places as a bisexual trans woman was definitely NOT a viable possibility for me.
