@Bike @OctaviaConAmore @Parasite @YKantRachelRead there's really not, and the girlies with the most interventions tend to break down to 1) the ones who need to make a living from their body, who are often extremely marginalized but pour the money they make back into their body in order to keep making money and 2) the richest bitches in the community, who can do whatever without really thinking about it, while the ones with the least interventions are 3) the girlies who are kind of poor but don't have to make a living with their body

and it seems like this book is Group Two trying to appropriate the political capital of Group One

@julieofthespirits @Bike @Parasite @YKantRachelRead not just classist, but also privilage in general, I think even if I had the ability to get any operations done, considering I'm bedridden already, any operation that isn't needed for physical survival is probably a risk to life at this point (and that's ignoring any physical help that'd be needed to fulfill daily needs while recovering... having people around who can spare time, energy, and opportunity cost for that sort of thing isn't exactly something we all have just spilling out o' our pockets)
