it's that if you needlessly appeal to the jingoistic reactionary feelings of those in the empire opposed to the empire that's directly opposing you, hoping to find a friend in your enemy's enemy,

you will lose everything

and will have aided the oppressors in the empire you are fleeing to

and the destruction of the resistors in that other empire, who had been in a position analgous to yours

leaving you nothing to show for your efforts but the scorn of all but the worst people in a strange land

anyway the resistance movement in Iran is trying to bring back a goddamn king of all things
