(saying this as a PoC immigrant whose ethnic community is very much subject to that kind of talk... but i never thought of the prospect of framing it as intentional weaponization by the white establishment against asian queers until now...)

@woof now wondering if the way the british handled suttee and the disastrous way in which it became a thing of national pride was an intended or desired outcome...
