empires require assimilation of new peoples and such to grow, they cannot afford to be particular or nationalistic else they will fail. wokeness is the denouement and recuperation of cultural avenues opened up by the organic negativity of marginalized groups to expand the ekumen of the empire, which is why it always feels forced, faked, and flabby relative to the real thing -- because it inevitably becomes a mere simulacrum of what is going in marginalized communities, made palatably safe for the dominant class. this is why Pride has become cringe, how corporate diversity efforts and other forms of "woke" end up falling flat. even the use of the word woke is a great example of wokeification, having been taking from AAVE and mutated into the creature we now know it as

@risperdoll felt. i was just going to say whatever Wokeness is speaks to some sort of real discontent, that we can even mean something when we use it as a word, even though the average normal person out there using the word just means Trannies and people who care about Palestine and ever having to think about a type of person outside your sense of Normal.
