@sierra dont do hackintosh :c also using pro audio software w wine means u have to learn to do a lot of manual pipewire routing if u plan on using an audio interface w more than 1 channel . else it should be fine (fl studio is , idrk abt ableton )

@fiore @sierra you wont have to do too much of it, you can just split your stuff into virtual routing devices. within pipewire config even, dont need a session manager for that or whatever its called.
the problem is rather that a lot of Your Favourite Vsts are proobably gonna be . quite broken on wine & actually run significantly slower (all cpu-bound, after all)
so uhm , advice from a girlthing which has went through all the frustration for you already: use something native. do reaper native on linux, or use macos with a mac daw, or whatever
Iff you only use your daws builtins tho, you can go the wine route. or if youre very patient. Very Patient.

@reia @sierra unfortunately the real solution is to keep a windows partition around if u wanna use ableton on smth that isnt a mac

@fiore @reia yeah maybe another partition is the way to go. probably windows too since I already have a crack for live 11 suite and I do Not want to have to download another one if I can avoid it . slow as fucking shit . shame though, I like both mac and linux .. LE SIGH

@sierra bitwig runs linux native and isnt a huge switch from ableton, i found the wine overhead plus plugin finagling on linux to be very unstable on ableton

@fiore @reia idc about all that I have unfinished projects that I DO NOT feel like recreating in anything else . nor to learn how to use another DAW
