i think the people who decided phones and other devices dont need 3.5mm headphone jacks need to be subjected to some greek myth style punishment

@bryophyteish i wouldn’t mind a more reliable connector though. As fun as phallic metal probes are, there’s no standards around the electrical properties for different numbers of rings and it can cause damage- the whole thing is also very sensitive to oxidisation.

what would be neat if there could be a TOSlink optical fibre combined in there.

some kind of standard or code around what multiple rings are going to do and which lines we’re sending potentially damaging voltages down
