the weekly series my gf and I have been watching this last season have finally come to an end - I'm hoping to find some new stuff to start. any recs?

our favorite two things from the last season were:

• Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia, and
• NEEDY GIRL OVERDOSE

other notable mentions from this season or recent ones:

• The Summer Hikaru Died
• Chainsmoker Cat (not done, but close - trashy but fun and sometimes rather poignant)
• Goodbye Lara (rather uneven, but i enjoyed it overall)
• we did watch the ScienceSaru GITS reboot but it just, wasn't very good despite loving SAC
• False Memory
• Witch Hat Atelier (follows a lot of standard story beats, it was pleasant enough with gorgeous visuals and a great soundtack)
• Frieren
• Dunmeshi

overall, the less "anime bullshit" (jarring, normalized sexual harrassment, that sort of thing), the better but it's not a dealbreaker (I loved Gurren Lagann back in the day, after all)

@vantiss Star☆Twinkle Precure

@patchuun that's not weekly! that's on our list for finished series to watch going forward

@vantiss well see, it /was/ weekly though, back when it aired you see,

@patchuun
bonk

@vantiss okay here's one that is also finished and not upcoming/airing that I may have mentioned before but you and rachel might like, sleepy princess in the demon castle. 12 episodes, fairly minimal anime bullshit from what I remember, funny, cute, great for bedtime

@vantiss "chuun who still did not understand the assignment" listen, you can just watch one episode a week and pretend it's airing,

@vantiss interested in something live action but with anime energy? Predominately an action thing. Also unfinished (ongoing, apparently it was renewed)

@sinvega
I'm open to it! we watch plenty of live action stuff

@vantiss last samurai standing. Incredibly under-discussed (far as I've seen anyway) series from last year. Ridiculous and over the top melodrama and it works because it knows it and it's *completely all in*. And absurdly ambitious choreography and camera work

and you can fucking see what's happening!

@sinvega @vantiss oh yea I need to pick that back up, I always fall off of watching things if I catch up while they're still running.

@vantiss dw if it's not your thing, or it might be but you don't get to it, I too have like 20 things I want to watch but... just haven't, for no reason

@vantiss I’m interested in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners S2, JoJo Steel Ball Run, and GROTESQQQUE this upcoming season. It’s looking like a pretty weak season overall but Edgerunners S2 has a very interesting director and I am expecting really great things from it.

@BotPupQT
bummer :c ty

@patchuun @vantiss very relatable series ~suyaaaa~
