@fiore @ellie thing is, Bundesbahn/Deutsche Bahn really used to have their shit together.

It's obvious if you either lived through it, seen footage from the 60s-80s or been to a train museum. Then privatisation happened with all the "perks" of the free market and DB has fallen off significantly since then.

Not saying the situation isn't a hundred times better than in countries where public transport is practically non-existent, but I think the majority of the populace just wants them to do as good again as they did in the past before trains become their first choice again.

@silhouette @ellie i think germany has it good because the country itself is laid out ina way that is perfect for a train network , as in : a huge fuarrrking square of nothingness

italy has good train service where it matters but the country is shaped in a sucky way

@fiore @ellie ideally it should become a state run agency again and the main goal should be to effectively transport people and goods as an economic productivity booster, not to make profits themselves.
