@sierra there’s actually a theory that cats domesticated themselves due to food stores being good places for rodents like mice to feast on which attracted predators, and then the humans were chill with them staying so that the food wouldn’t be eaten.
@sierra so like they were domesticated technically, but without human intervention which is why they can be less co-operative or whatever, but there’s still a lot of examples of selective-breeding with things like munchkin cats, or the ones with the smooshed in faces etc.
