every now and then I think about how during early blaseball, fans of the garages vowed to Kill All Gods. Every Single One. and actual religious people were like “guys..? even… even my god???” as if it wasn’t a fictional sports simulation game with players named shit like Jaylen Hotdogfingers.
If a character in a story declares to kill everyone and everything on the planet, would you feel threatened? If the character never says the sort in the actual story, but fans and supporters of said story declared that they would, would you feel threatened?
Blaseball was a story told by a community attaching meanings, emotions, to a Baseball Simulator. Where the players could die. Do not get stories told by everyone around you mixed up with reality.
