@shroomie in addition to all the compatibility problems (but really connected to them) and the fact that the spec is badly incomplete, the whole thing was built by a few people in the community with no consultation with any of the developers of the other major sourceports and the entire project controlled by Microsoft-Bethesda

the linked thread is an example of the sort of problem that would have been caught very early on if id24 had been developed as an organic extension of the community-developed prior art
