Edited 1 year ago

the plan:

  • move C: (120GB sata SSD, with OS) to new 1TB drive
  • move D: (1TB HDD, has everything else) to new 2TB drive
  • use C: as a sort of temporary usage drive, primarily as an output for OBS recordings
  • use D: as an archive for things I don’t need often, like old recordings or backups

@sierra < technically my computer (once it comes back from being put together again) has four. um. but i dont know if external hard drives count. if we only count internal ones it only has two

@nyanide well that defeats the purpose of having them all. I need CAPACITY not redundancy!!!

besides, they're all different, so it wouldn't really work

@sierra If you were using Linux I'd have just suggested modifying fstab to mount the big burly disk under /home instead and letting the other disks eat up other random parts of the filesystem (or maybe other parts of your own home directory?)

BSD already stores different parts of the system using different partitions anyway and it would make more sense to apply that logic to different disks, rather than doing the DOS thing and installing a bunch of junk programs to another disk or whatever like my sibling does. (1 tb C drive is full and I keep telling them to *REINSTALL WINDOWS.*)
