@lizzie it's sort of a mixed point like the catholic catechism says animals glorify God through existence and are part of the stewardship of the earth (2416) but then it just stops short of advocating vegetarianism and warns against prioritising animals over humans instead. it sort of feels implied that one should only sacrifice an animal with a sense of great responsibility? and who among us is eating a responsibly killed animal exactly

@apophis @monkey i was talking about this with a vegan friend since someone brought up B12 and i said “if the world is so fallen that we have to eat creatures which we should individually care for to gain a necessary nutrient, then why does this brokenness suddenly stop at people? cannibalism should make you live forever or something” and she said “this is available at your parish on sunday”
