This is the guy behind the new right and the "trad" movements fueling Trump/MAGA. American Christians are quite possibly the dumbest and most gullible people in human history

@dushman @sun @anemone pretty much every transhumanist only likes the idea of transhumanism as borderline fantastical pie in the sky horseshit that will never happen in our lifetimes like mind uploading or various other life extension technologies, because they're all redditors who soy out about how it's just like their soft sci-fi media but at the core are all pathetic fragile men who are scared of dying or even of their bodies or their image of a Self ever changing. any actually existing transhumanism is horrifying to them

@anemone merging with the machine is unironically a grave sin. this man will go to hell for other reasons he doesnt need another.

@georgia @anemone out of curiosity, where are you getting that itโ€™s a grave sin from? Not contesting, just curious as to the source

@arcana @anemone transhumanism is a perversion of yoga, the merger of man and the Supreme Lord. improving health outcomes I'm all for (unless its at cost of fetal or extreme animal life), but immortality? its disgusting. only God is immortal and only yogis attain true immortality in merging with God after they die. merging organic life with a soul with soulless machine is frankly an act of desecration. yoga is already the solution for the "problem" of aging and death.

@georgia @anemone major disagree here, immortality is good and letting yourself die is wrong and foolish. I donโ€™t really care what eastern religions have to say on this personally.

I personally think regenerative immortality through bioengineering is preferable to mechanic means, but immortality should be the goal.

@arcana @anemone @georgia literally every day i log onto this site and am reminded why people are not and should not be immortal and definitely need to die at some point.

@georgia @anemone and this is something neither you nor anybody else will ever convince me differently. My earliest memory is knowing that I must become immortal.

@rowb1t @anemone @georgia Just because you hate yourself doesn't mean others should. You and your kind will fade into obscurity.

@nyx @anemone @dushman @sun they can't even get a vaccine without it being too scary and experimental so I'm not sure who TF they're trusting to do these fictional body mods

@eris@yourwalls.today i just cant get over that he's trying to argue that becoming a robot and uploading a copy of your mind into a computer so you can live forever is ackshually the most based and trad and christian thing you can do

@eris@yourwalls.today his argument seems to be that transgender body modification isn't extreme enough

@anemone @eris i think it's more like "uploading our minds to computers will do the thing that your christianity and transgenderism are just pale shadows of"

@eris @anemone imagine someone "uploading themselves" and their entire estate is now under the control of a shitty chatgpt chatbot that is now a legal person for all purposes except the experiential and ontological

@apophis @anemone I feel like it would really only amount to an abomination that imitates human consciousness while the actual person just fucking dies lol
