I feel that the Democrats might bear some responsibility for these ICE raids

i think the dems bear quite some responsibility for letting it all continue without comment every time they had any opportunity to even pretend to push back against the excesses

@eris @apophis from a completely cynical vote-seeking perspective it's honestly not a bad strategy. if you dont care about the wellbeing of your voters, why not just let trump wreck their lives? stopping him would just mean a lower voter turnout for your team and a higher turnout for his

@nemesis @apophis Democrats don't actually give a shit if they're in power or not or if there's a blue wave. They see it as a job at the end of the day. The individuals might not want to lose their personal seats, but they don't care about each other's careers or seeing more Democrats than themselves.
Especially those in Democrat leadership positions like Nancy Pelosi feel secure in their seats so even in a minority, she has her job so all she has to do is do sarcastic claps and call him a taco to fool her voters into thinking she has a spine.
There's no grand strategy. This is just how they make money so they can buy the next Apple Dookie Pro.

@nemesis @eris sometimes people don't really "mean" to do something, but they don't think about it and the incentives they follow uncritically as a matter of course just naturally lead them to do it
maybe not first degree specific intent malice aforethought but one really does want to ask if anything can help overcome the motivation to not think about it despite repeated prompting
