john carter is sooo cool but it gets kinda to the point of "then he met the PURPLE martians who were even BETTER swordfighters" & he wins again its very goku-esque . idc though its all beautiful in a way that is never published nowadays & i need to reread them for the third time

like book 1 u meet the red martians & the six armed green martians & u go ok . then you meet white martians & black martians ? who are like underground? then yellow martians at the north pole? its weird 😭

@shrew ive only read his John Carter series so idk about tarzan but i like it a lot !!!! the books take place entirely on mars so there isnt much racism at all really . really fun classic adventure stories , save the princess, save the princess again , etc .
